What is today Einar Øgrey Farsund AS was established in 1969 at the request of Director Sejersted in Elkem to Einar Øgrey. Øgrey decided to invest in Farsund, and asked Asbjørn Fahret to build and lead the company. From the beginning, Elkem Aluminum ANS Lista was the main customer, and many mechanics were employed there. When Tinfos Jernverk AS was established in Kvinesdal, the company gained a new large customer, especially due to Fahret’s knowledge in machine design. Towards the mid-1990s, Bredero Price Norway AS became one of the main customers. Again, the services provided were a mix of mechanical maintenance, assembly and construction. Alcoa Automotive Castings Scandinavian Casting Center (today Aludyne AS) was established in 1996. The location and expertise of Einar Øgrey Farsund AS was favorable, and Alcoa became an important customer for the company. After the turn of the millennium, Einar Øgrey Farsund AS has delivered automation products to both Fibo Trespo AS and Alloc AS in Lyngdal.
